FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

July 16, 2020 Mountainside, NJ – STAFF

 

It was an exciting day Thursday.  The Maureen E. Nolan Foundation presented its first scholarships.  The winners, Amy Moore of Mother Seton Regional High School and Melanie Valliciergo Mt St Mary Academy stopped by the home of Chairman Joe Nolan and his wife Marianne.  The Celebration was scaled down due to the virus but both Amy and Melanie were able to stand for pictures with Joe and Jim Sosinski Foundation Treasurer.

 

Amy and Melanie were the winners of an essay contest which the foundation received entries from catholic high school seniors from all over New Jersey and were both awarded $2500.

The Maureen E. Nolan Foundation which is the project of long time New York Radio Personality Joe Nolan and his family.  Named after Joe’s mom who was a Catholic school teacher at Holy Trinity School is Westfield, New Jersey for 18 years until her death in 1982.  The goal of the Foundation is to assist graduates of New Jersey Catholic High Schools with tuition to attend an accredited, 4 years, institution of higher learning.
